WRFC Selection v WRFC (2008 ) U18s All Ireland Champions

Heineken Cup Final day (Saturday May 19th) we are holding a very special match that will reunite the team that won the U18 All Ireland final three years ago. They will come together to play a Wicklow selection prior to the showing of the Heineken Cup Final in the clubhouse. This game will bring together the All conquering side that swept all before them against a Wicklow selection. Kick off will be at 1.30pm.

WRFC U19's Win Leinster Plate Final

Wicklow Under 19's celebrated the end of a long season by winning the Leinster Plate Final defeating Barnhall 13 points to 12 with a try in the last play of the game at Newbridge RFC on Saturday. Wicklow opted to play against the wind in the first half. However Barnhall got the perfect start when in the second minute won their own scrum in the Wicklow 22 and scored the opening try.

A wet and windy day in Ashtown Lane saw Wicklow U14’s meet Wexford Wanderers in the final of the hotly contested Leinster U14 Cup.

Wexford are one of the best U14 sides to come out of Leinster in years and Wicklow knew they would have to pull out all the stops against a team not used to losing.

As the U14 squad prepare for the season finale, the Leinster U14 Cup, against Wexford Wanderers, the news came through that the match would be played on Sunday 29th April at 1pm.

The venue for the match was also decided, and, although it is a final, Wicklow RFC have been given a home draw.

With the match kicking off at 1pm, and the Heineken Cup Semi-Final between Leinster and Clermont Auvergne kicking off at 3pm, it promises to be a great day for rugby in the club house.

K.O. 12.00pm

If the match ends in a draw after 70 minutes, there will be no extra-time, the match would go to a replay.

The Leinster Youth Committee Honorary Secretary, Mick McCoy, will inspect ID cards & teamsheets before the match and make the after-match presentations.

Wicklow 30 - 12 Portlaoise

Wicklow U14s played Portlaoise in a hardfought semi-final in the neutral venue of Clondalkin to secure a place in the Final of the U14 cup. Wicklow were aware that Portlaoise would bring physicality to the table and started well with agressive defence through the forwards putting pressure on the Laoise outfit from the kick off.

The Wicklow RFC U14 team, coached by Allen Byrne and Brian Clarke, will take on Portlaoise RFC in the Semi-Final of the Leinster Cup in Clondalkin RFC tomorrow (Saturday 21st April) at 11:30.

Wicklow Under 12’s departed for their annual tour of Munster on Friday 13th April. A squad of 36 players left Wicklow Rugby Club in high spirits along with 4 Coaches and many travelling supporters.

Tag Rugby in WRFC - Join the Fun this Summer

Registration for the WRFC Tag Rugby Tournament will be held up in the club this Friday night (18th May) from 7pm. There will be a mixed practise match taking place to see how the game is played as well so come on up and register for what will be a great tournament!!
