Dear Members, Friends and Guests
It gives me great pleasure as President of Wicklow Rugby football Club for 2017/2019 to welcome you to the new season at Ashtown Lane.
The senior men will play in Division 1A for 2017/18 season and it promises an exciting yet difficult competition. The commitment of the squad and management will be 100% I would like to wish our head coach George Naoupou, backs coach Billy Ngawini, Club Captain John Jenkinson and their team all the very best for the coming season.
To all the youths and minis teams in the Club, their coaches and management teams, I hope you all enjoy a competitive, injury free, and fun season. I especially want to wish our senior women and captain Megan Parkinson success and enjoyment during the season. It is great to see our girls and women’s section growing from strength to strength.
I would like to thank our loyal fans and supporters who come to Ashtown Lane and travel all over Leinster supporting our teams.  Our supporters are particularly important for away matches so I would encourage new members and old to join us at away league matches (and in Ashtown Lane!!) during the season. Be assured that the players on the pitch appreciate your commitment.
We are greatly indebted to our in-house team covering bar and catering who regularly go beyond the call of duty to ensure that the Club runs efficiently.
Once again a major thank you is due to all our sponsors and in particular our main club sponsor, Bank of Ireland, for their generosity and support. Our sponsors, together with our members, are the lifeblood of our Club and your continued support is greatly appreciated. Please support our sponsors where you can.
To our Trustees, Executive Committee, General committee and all our volunteers who give freely of their time and, without whom we could simply not survive as a club, thank you all and please continue your good work. New volunteers are always welcome.
If you are a visitor to the club for a match I trust you will experience strong competition on the pitch and enjoy our traditional hospitality in the Clubhouse afterwards.
I look forward to seeing you throughout the season supporting our teams from senior to under age level the very best of luck to you all.
Bert Nicholson
President 2017/2018,
Wicklow Rugby Football Club
